maggi goreng...
there's this new makan place at tiong bahru plaza call Mr Teh Tarik, just next to KFC. imagine my happiness when i found out they had maggi goreng!! something i can only find in malaysia. didn't try it until today, about a month since i found it. why? because it costs $4.00 withough egg and $4.50 with egg.
went to get dinner for the family as usual today and thought i would pamper myself and get KFC for my dinner. walked there, joined the queue, looked at the menu for a while and decided to walk away. $6.20 for a 2-piece meal! i can get 2 packets of rice with that amount. therefore decided to try out the maggi goreng for $4.00 - cheaper plus got learning i.e. i'll know if it's good. verdict - nothing beats those from malaysia. looks like have to fulfil my craving only when i go to KL in april. :(
never mind...shall wait patiently...will get there. shall look forward to christmas first. yeah!! jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way....so happy.

trip to KL
started off dramatically on saturday morning...was busy the whole week with getting things done for a friday event and after it ended, was all tired and could hardly open my eyes when i came back home. decided to sleep and do the packing in the morning. didn't think it was too difficult since i'll be in kl for only a night. went through my mind what i'll do when i wake up.
- pick up my backpack
- pack in a change of clothes
- throw whatever i have in my handbag into the backpack
- leave money for the kids
that should be all i need for the trip.
woke up saturday morning - where's my backpack!! remembered my son used it for his camp. grabbed whatever bag's available. got my change of clothes, threw in stuff from my handbag, left money for the kids and left...dawned on me i'm leaving the country!! where is my passport? oh no..turned back, looked all over for it and left at 7.35am for bus terminus at golden mile. got there JIT - bus leaves at 8am. all the drama and i forgot my namecards and my spectacles. *sigh* this has to be one of the most unprepared trips for me. at the stopover - no Malaysian Ringgit... *~* was also JIT for receivers' training.
the hotel room given to us was fantastic. it's like a junior suite. there is even a walk-in wardrobe and we have the lake view. what more can i ask for.
saturday came and went with all the discoveries and revelations. it was a tough nite. slept at 4am, woke up at 8.30am for a leisurely breakfast to start again at 11am. this session was especially meaningful for me. brought out things i have denied. things i should manage in order to move on. how am i going to do that? i don't know. acknowledging them is the first step. the rest, i'll have to figure out. met some wonderful people there. i am sure with their support, i'll manage and i will move on to greater things.
REMOVE ALL BLOCKS!!!!!i will miss my group...guys - already missing you. thank you for sharing.
way home? another drama - went to puduraya to get return bus tickets to singapore. all sold out. the only ones available were at 8pm and 9.30pm. decided to take the earliest available to JB and take the bus back from Larkin. we were brought to what looks like one of our old school buses. the lady sitting next to me got her tickets at 3.30pm @ RM30. what?! we got ours at 4pm @ RM33. thought that was bad enough until we heard someone got theirs at RM40. of course they were after us. it goes up by the minute - demand and supply. being in the station is like being in the stock market. very vibrant. it says 4.15pm on the ticket but didn't leave until about an hour later. we only stopped for 2 toilet breaks and reached home almost 12 midnight.
2 great things to share of my return journey.
- i can use the automated line with my old passport :) didn't know that
- knew my 2nd girl was in JB, manifested that i'll meet her on bus 170 :) i did
isn't life great and wonderful? the Lord has a timing for everything that happens. if the bus had left on time, we would not have met on the bus. YES!
all i can say is that it was drama all the way from saturday morning till sunday night. it was a really great weekend. just love all that's happening to me. traumatic at times but always for a reason, always making me a better person.
LOVE - let me love others and allow myself to be loved. never ever shortchange yourself.
to all my kids - must always remember that ok?
